Genua ist eine Hafenstadt in Norditalien, Hauptstadt der Region Ligurien und die gleichnamige Metropole. Es befindet sich am innersten Punkt des ligurischen K\u00fcstenbogens, in der N\u00e4he des Apennins, wo es P\u00e4sse gibt, die es mit dem Po-Hinterland verbinden.<\/p>\n

Genua war vom elften bis zum achtzehnten Jahrhundert eine der Seerepubliken und wurde zu einer See- und Handelsmacht in Europa und im Mittelmeerraum.
